Using Core Vocabulary During Shared Reading and Guided Reading

This session will describe and distinguish between shared reading and guided reading, two evidence-based instructional strategies targeting language and literacy development. The focus will be on the use of a core vocabulary approach to engage students with complex communication in each type of instruction. Video examples and references for accessible and appropriate books will be provided as well as free access to the Universal Core Vocabulary.
