This document deals with problems and status of people with disabled with brain lesions and language disabilities. In order to guarantee their right to communicate, providing ‘Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)’ system is urgently needed. But the government of South Korea is trying to cut welfare budget, which represents the grim future for people with disabled.

Besides, the lack of AAC expert and their expertise are resulting people with disabled with brain lesions and language disabilities in living. Most notably, deprivation of right to participate in society(educational rights, work rights, etc) and provider-driven AAC system is being problematic.

Despite these difficult circumstances, people with disabled brain lesions and language disabilities are constantly expanding the communications and activities with using AAC. In order to generalize and expand AAC usage, we must establish ‘AAC support center’ to provide customized AAC service for people with disabled. Lastly, we must enact legal and institutional framework to support and guarantee of people with disabled brain lesions and language disabilities right to communicate.
