    Hamilton Wentworth Communication Collective

    The Hamilton Wentworth Communication Collective is a volunteer organization formed in 1977 to help support individuals who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. Members are from all sectors of the community including AAC consumers and their families, teachers, therapists and support workers. HWCC is affiliated with Blissymbolics Communication International (BCI), the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC) and ISAAC Canada.

    Speaking for Ourselves

    Speaking for Ourselves is a two-year oral history project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, to communicate the living heritage of disabled people to a wider audience.

     

    AAC RERC Writer’s Brigade

    Sarah Blackstone and Michael Williams developed the AAC-RERC Writer’s Brigade in order to reverse findings that people with complex communication needs are unemployed and underemployed. Read about this project and its many aspiring writers.
