Conference Proceedings

The ISAAC Biennial Conference is one of the most important activities of ISAAC.

• The scientific and professional program promotes international sharing of information, and advances opportunities for individuals with severe communication disabilities worldwide.
• The technical exhibit showcases new developments in AAC technology.
• A series of instructional courses focus on current topics for a wide range of disciplines.
• A research symposium provides a forum for discussion and development of research initiatives and collaborative partnerships, and focues on building the theoretical basis of the field of AAC.
• It brings together the international membership, Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
• In sum, the ISAAC Biennial Conference provides an opportunity to highlight the activities and accomplishments of ISAAC; it's Chapters, professional and non-speaking members throughout the world.

Produced in advance of each conference, the Proceedings is on average 500 pages of papers that have been submitted world wide and selected for presentation through an international peer review process. Papers cover many aspects of non-speaking communication and are essential reading for professionals, teachers, researchers, assistive technology manufactures and people who are using AAC. The instructional courses are not included.
